The safe travel of all athletes,
coaches, officials and families was the primary factor in making
the decision to delay the start of the competition. Although
the impact of Hurricane Wilma is impossible to predict, current
information has the hurricane scheduled to make landfall in
Florida by Sunday. By delaying the start of the competition
until Wednesday, it is anticipated that the hurricane will have
moved through the area allowing for safe travel. Airlines are
currently offering revised ticket policies allowing travelers
to change their itinerary at no charge. Please consult directly
with your airline carrier for their current policy concerning
Hurricane Wilma. For more information, contact Lyn
Edens, Competition Chair.
